AMW Site Designs Participates in First Vendor Fair!

This past weekend AMW Site Designs had the pleasure of participating in our first vendor fair. It was held by Thursday Network: Greater Washington Urban League Young Professionals at their headquarters in Washington, DC. The event was entitled, “National Day of Empowerment: Black Business Empowerment Summit.”

Going in, we weren’t sure what to expect or if our table would be interesting enough for Summit participants to stop by. Our neighboring vendors had tables full of cool bath salts, delicious cheesecakes and non-profits making a difference. But after just a few minutes in we realized that was not the case. Tons of aspiring and current entrepreneurs came up asking questions on launching their brand or perfecting their existing one. We realized how big of a resource our company could be to these entrepreneurs and spent hours sharing our experience and advice.

We are really looking forward to more events like this and now have some of the key tools needed for a service based business to exhibit.

Key items for a service based business to exhibit at a vendor fair:

  • Portfolio of work – hardbound, including services, previous work and pricing if desired
  • Informational flyers
  • Something you can raffle off – our favorite are Starbucks gift cards, make sure you collect peoples business cards in exchange for entering the raffle
  • Candy or Swag – sometimes these chatskis attract people to the table
  • Table cloth

Good luck!
