On Saturday Dec. 5th, Adrian White, CEO/ Founder of AMW Site Designs had the honor to accept the prestigious award of 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year by the National Black MBA Association – DC Chapter (NBMBAA). After doing web design informally for the last 15+ years and formally for the last 3 she felt it was surreal to be awarded something like this. “I’m still in shock somewhat now. But I wanted to share some tips I’ve learned over the years as to how I got to a place as an entrepreneur to win awards for what I do,” says Adrian.

How Entrepreneurs can get their Business more Recognition:

• • Do what you love – Make sure you have a business or trade you feel very passionate about because when nights get late working on your business you don’t want to dread what you’re doing

• • Promote yourself – participate as a vendor in trade shows, network and talk to others about your business, nominate yourself for awards

• • Perfect your trade – you can never stop learning so make sure to stay on top of the current skills required to do your job as effective as possible

• • Make your business stand out – what makes your business different than all your competitors? What are you doing to stimulate the community? People love feel good businesses and if you have a greater purpose as to why you do what you do it will allow you to stand out more
